Biography

Alexey Fedorov graduated from school at the age of 15 and immediately entered the first year of the Moscow State Technical University. N.E. Bauman. At the age of 16, he began his first work at the Russian Quantum Center under the guidance of Professor Alexander Lvovsky. Already at the age of 18, he was invited for an internship in Calgary by Alexander Lvovsky, where he and other scientists were instructed to build an optics laboratory. Then he was invited to an internship at Harvard. In 2015, he successfully completed a six-year study at an engineering university and went to graduate school at the University of Paris-Saclay, where he defended his thesis in theoretical physics under the guidance of Professor Georgy Shlyapnikov already in 2017 at the age of 23.
He returned to work in Russia, where he gathered his research group. Now Alexey is the head of the group of the Russian Quantum Center «Quantum Information Technologies», the founder of the quantum computing platform, the creator of the quantum blockchain, one of the founders of the quantum post-cryptography startup
(QApp). Received the position of professor at MIPT at the age of 26, where he teaches an author’s course on the basics of quantum technologies at the department of the Russian Quantum Center.
In 2019, Alexey Fedorov was included in the final Forbes 30 under 30 list in the Science nomination and is also one of the people included in the Elon Musk list of the Presidential Administration.
