S. Straupe has a PhD degree from Moscow state University with a thesis on “Correlation properties of high-dimensional quantum states based on biphotons” defended in 2011. Then, in 2011-2012, worked at the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT, Singapore) on experiments in cavity quantum electrodynamics with single atoms in optical tweezers. Since 2013 to the present, works at Lomonosov Moscow State University, focusing on experimental quantum optics and quantum information. Since 2018, has been leading an experimental laboratory developing quantum computing systems within the Centre for Quantum Technologies established at Moscow State University. Since 2021, leads the scientific group «Atomic and Optical Quantum Computing» at the Russian Quantum Center. From 2024, serves as the scientific director of the Centre for Quantum Technologies at Sberbank.
