2000: Appointed First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office.

On May 7, 2008 assumed the office of President of the Russian Federation.

May 8, 2018, Re-appointed Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
January 16, 2020, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
He was awarded the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" II degree (2005), the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" I degree (2015).
