Professional interests of Jits R.Yu. include the design and analysis of space missions. At NASA Ames research Center from 2001 to 2010, he worked on optimization of entry trajectories and control algorithms for vehicles performing entry and aerodynamic maneuvering in the atmospheres of Earth, Mars and Neptune. In Russia, as the head of the Aeronet division of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) related to the field of private astronautics, together with the Roscosmos State Corporation, he organized competition for the development of an ultra-light orbital launch vehicle, a small upper stage and the implementation of a commercial service for launching small spacecraft using this orbital launcher. Currently, he further widens this activity with the aim of forming a vertically integrated holding under the auspices of the Voskhod Venture Foundation, working with russian private companies to develop ultra-light launch vehicles, small spacecraft and ground-based infrastructure for satellite data processing and distribution.
