Born in Tomsk in 1978. From 2005 to 2007, Alexey Knyazev studied pre-doctoral studies at TSU. Under his leadership, the TSU priority project “Creation of glyoxal production” was initiated. Since 2006, Alexey Sergeevich headed the Laboratory of Catalytic Research at TSU, and since 2007 he became director of the Center for Collective Use “Sorption and Catalytic Research.” In 2008, Alexey Knyazev entered doctoral studies at the Faculty of Chemistry of TSU. In 2013, he defended his dissertation “Modified copper subgroup catalysts for the partial oxidation of ethylene glycol to glyoxal” at TSU for the degree of Doctor of Chemical Sciences. From September 2012 to August 2014 - at the invitation of the Governor of the Tomsk Region Sergei Zhvachkin, Knyazev worked as Deputy Governor of the Tomsk Region for the scientific and educational complex and innovation policy. From 2015 to the present, Alexey Knyazev heads the Engineering Chemical Technology Center, whose team provides services for the development and organization of production of low-tonnage and scarce chemical products, provides comprehensive engineering services from conducting marketing and patent research and developing a preliminary design, organizing research and development work to conducting acceptance tests of synthesis technologies and small-scale production of the product.
